Boric acid is a white powdery crystal or a tridiagonal scaly luster crystal, with a smooth texture and no odor. Soluble in water, alcohol, glycerin, ether and essence oil, the aqueous solution is weakly acidic.
Widely used in the glass industry (optical glass, acid resistant glass, heat-resistant glass, glass fiber for insulation materials), it can improve the heat resistance and transparency of glass products, increase mechanical strength, and shorten melting time. The flame color reaction experiment is green.
